We all know that sharing videos on social media is a great way to share key messages and engage with your audience. While businesses have been sharing videos on Facebook for quite some time, many have not yet taken the plunge and started sharing videos with their Instagram followers, which leaves them missing out on attracting new fans and business opportunities. Posting videos to Instagram is much easier than you think, especially if you follow our easy guide on how to post videos on Instagram.
1. Give Instagram access to your photo library
Before you begin, you must give Instagram access to your phone’s photo library, which you access from your phones ‘Settings’ menu and then select ‘Privacy’. Once you have given access to Instagram, you then need to log in to Instagram.
2. Log into Instagram and decide what type of video you are going to share.
Once logged into Instagram, you then need to decide if you will be sharing a video which is already stored in your phones image library or if you are going to record a new one. When selecting a video to post on Instagram, keep in mind you can only share videos between 3 – 15 seconds long.
Recording a new video
Recording a new video is easy, simply tap the button you normally would use to take a photo and then from that screen, just tap on the icon to the right to switch to video and start recording – it’s that easy!
Upload an existing video
To upload a video which is already saved to your phone, select your image library to see the videos currently stored and tap the one you want to upload.
3. Edit your video
If you video is longer than 15 seconds you will need to edit it down. After you’ve selected the video you wish to post, you will see two horizontal strips at the bottom of your screen. You can touch the lower strip to select where you want your video to start and the blue bar is then used to select where your video will end.
Once you’ve edited your video to the desired length, you can then add filters to your video and select from a range of still images from your video to choose the title frame. Once you’ve added these final creative touches, your video is ready to share on Instagram – simply post as you normally would for a photo.
